Cornerstone Children’s Center is excited to announce the artist line-up for their 4th Annual Free Community Concert on September 30th at 7:00 p.m.! The Morning Watch, a popular south Georgia based Christian band will headline the event for the second year. Cornerstone continues to feature quality Christian musicians with ties to the local area—The Morning Watch is based out of Dublin, Ga and brings a powerful gospel message through their testimony and music!

We are also pleased to announce that Christian musician John Waller, best known for writing and performing songs featured in the movies War Room (Crazy Faith) and Fireproof (While I’m Waiting), will open for The Morning Watch!  John has recently released a new single and video entitled Awakening.

Voices of Truth, a vocal ensemble from Brewton Parker College will round out the talent line-up this year. They will kick off the event with several selections featuring some very talented student voices!

Letters to potential corporate sponsors are in the mail and we are looking forward to another great event this year!  Our Facebook event page is Free Community Concert – The Morning Watch.  Please add this event to your calendars and help us spread the word!

Breaking News from The Mercy Ministries – New Dental Clinic Coming Soon

Posted By admin / August, 2, 2017 / 0 comments

Carly Benton

The Mercy Ministries

Executive Director

Last month, the Board and staff at The Mercy Ministries decided to begin the process of moving our dental clinic (formerly known as Compassionate Care Dental Clinic) in house to the Mercy Medical Clinic at our main office in Lyons and return to a volunteer-based, free dental clinic. Due to many changes that have occurred at CCDC over the last year, our resources for dental care for our 476 active, medical patients have become slim to none. By the end of the first quarter, we realized it was taking over 6 MONTHS for one of our medical patients to get an appointment at CCDC and Sissy had a stack of OVER 100 REFERRALS just sitting on her desk. Something had to be done! And praise God, our board, staff, volunteers and community responded to the call for help.

Now, thanks to the generosity of Dr. Ronald Mosley at Vidalia Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, we have acquired almost all of the equipment needed to set up two dental operatories. Just last week, a team of our staff traveled to Douglas to pack up dental equipment from a dentist’s office closing there. And TODAY a team of contractors and Colonial Clinical Repair Services is here in the clinic coming up with a plan for the plumbing and electrical! SO EXCITING!

We are so thankful for you, our faithful donors, prayer warriors and community partners for allowing us to put God’s love into action by serving those in need at The Mercy Ministries. Even though the Mercy Dental Clinic is in it’s beginning stages, we know that the Lord is making a way for his people and that the best is yet to come!
