VIDALIA’S JULY 4TH CELEBRATION FEATURES MUSIC AND FIREWORKS
The second concert in the 2017 Vidalia Outdoor Concert Series is Tuesday, July 4th and will once again feature music and fireworks. The A-Town A-List Band has been playing amazing events all over the Southeast and around the entire country since their 2010 debut. They are a carefully curated combination of performers with impressive musical, vocal, dance and theatre experience. With resumes that include performances alongside the likes of Bruce Springsteen, The Black-Eyed Peas, and Stevie Wonder, the band members each bring to the stage a combination of unique talents. Together, they form a magnetic energy that will entice every partygoer to the dance floor. The band plays timeless classics to modern hits, from groovin’ funk to soulful, slow-burning ballads. And all three singers’ performance chemistry is infectious, evoking the emotional delivery of nearly every fan-favorite of the past 60 years …from Bruno Mars to Frank Sinatra and from the Beatles to Katy Perry and Beyonce. The concert will include the City of Vidalia’s Annual 4th of July Fireworks show, which has become one of the area’s favorites and draws attendees from miles around. No advance tickets for this event; admission will be $5.00 per person at the gate; kids 5 and under admitted free.

VIDALIA – Morgan Coleman, Meadows Regional Medical Center Labor and Delivery RN, received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses Tuesday, June 6.
Coleman was nominated for this prestigious award by Lauren O’Neal, who complimented her professionalism, kindness, and compassion during her hospital stay. “Morgan exhibited exemplary service to me during my stay, but she didn’t stop there,” O’Neal said. “She connected with my family, reaching out to them when they were concerned or things got a little stressful. She also stayed after her shift ended to help bring our bundle of joy into the world. Morgan’s caring and compassionate nature resulted in the best experience of my life.”
Meadows Interim Director of Labor and Delivery, Mandy Green, also commented, “I am so proud of Morgan. We are very lucky to have her as part of our team in Labor and Delivery.”
Meadows President and CEO, Alan Kent, also added, “Morgan is a wonderful deserving nurse, a great example to our peers, leaders and to the profession. I am so glad she is part of our team at Meadows.”
Morgan has been employed with Meadows for two years and currently resides in Hazlehurst.
The Daisy Award was established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a little known but not uncommon auto-immune disease. The care Patrick and his family received during his hospital stay inspired this unique means of recognizing extraordinary nurses who make an enormous difference in the lives of patients.
